My car finally finished and on the road.

It won first place in its class at the 2008 Mustang convention.
Also best American at local all Ford day.

We put in an aluminum radiator with an electric fan.

The Mustang is ready for final assembly.

This was done with the help of the Mustang centre and Friends.

It took about 8 Months from this stage to the end.

All Parts were supplied by the Mustang Centre (Christchurch New Zealand)

Engine was painted in Light blue Metallic.

The engine was completely reconditioned. It has flat top pistons and harded valve seats.

It is bored out to 60Thou.

It has a mild street cam.

4 barrel Holly.

All Suspension ,brakes.engine.diff,trans are painted a light metallic blue to match the interior.

The car is fitted with disk brakes all round.

This is a conversion kit from SSBC

The 66 must have been in a crash at some stage.

The right hand chassey rail had a kink which had to be fixed.

The front and right of the car was replaced also.

The rear Quarters were cut out and new ones were fitted.

A new trunk lid was fitted.

We also added the GT rear valance.

New door skins were welded on.

Then inside were painted a light metallic blue

The doors were full of rust.

The old outer skins were removed.

The inner part of the doors had surface rust removed and rust proofed.

The rest of the interior was stripped to metal then rust killed.

All the under seal was removed.

The rest of the floor was in good shape.

Floor sections were then replaced.

A new heater box was also welded in.

The rusted sections were cut out.

The floor was rusted through in

quiet a few places.

Then the final paint was taken off with the grinder.

(Would have been quicker to sand or soda blast)

We removed all the parts off the car in about three hours.

That was the easy bit.

We opted to strip the car back to bare metal using paint stripper.

66 Mustang Coupe

This is my 66 coupe before it was restored. I brought it in 2000 and it was my daily driver for six years.

Originally it was candy apple red with black interior. (before my time)
